Waste Tire Recycling Event
When: Saturday, November 5, 2016
Hours: 9:00 -1:00
Where: Ross High School, 3601 Hamilton-Cleves Rd., Hamilton, OH  45013

10 Tire Limit per household.  Car tires, truck or tractor tires accepted.
Open to Butler County residents only
Large quantities of tires will not be accepted.  For large quantities contact Rumpke at 742-2900 or Liberty Tire 614-871-8097.

Freon Collection Program
To schedule pick up of your unwanted/used Freon appliance call Unwanted Appliances at 1-888-886-9268. This "on-demand" service will be offered through the end of October.  Freon is removed by certified technicians and appliances are recycled. 
Accepted items: Refrigerators, Freezers, Dehumidifiers and Air-Conditioning units.  Appliance MUST be placed in driveway or at curb on morning of scheduled pick up.

Household Hazardous Waste Drop Off 
When:  Thursdays through October
Hours:  2 - 7 pm
NEW  Location: 175 Westheimer Dr. Monroe, OH  45044
Please do NOT take hazardous waste items to our previous drop off location on Cincinnati-Dayton Rd.

Shredding Events
Your personal information can be safely and securely shredded at these local events.

Fall BBB Shred Day - October 15 from 8 -11
The Better Business Bureau (BBB) provides a free document shredding event twice a year. The event will take place at UC- Blue Ash, 9555 Plainfield Road, Blue Ash, Ohio. Limit of 5 boxes per vehicle. For more information, call 513-639-9146.

Walgreens in Middletown now has Safe Medication Disposal Program
The medication disposal receptacles allow individuals to safely dispose of unwanted, unused or expired prescriptions and over the counter medications, at no cost.  The following location has a medication disposal receptacle:
Walgreens - Middletown
700 S. Breiel Blvd.
NO syringes, lancets, liquids or inhalants.

By the end of the year, Walgreens is expected to install medication disposal receptacles in more locations - see flyer!

Residential Leaf Collection & Yard Waste
Many cities will soon begin their annual leaf pick- up programs.  Below is helpful information so you can be prepared in advance.

Fairfield Brush Pick Up and Leaf Collection
Fairfield residents can arrange to have their brush and limbs picked up by the City of Fairfield Public Works Department.  Another service, Operation Dump Truck accommodates large quantities of brush and limbs too large for call in pick-up program.  Fairfield collects leaves each fall, from the first part of November through the last part of December.  Visit http://www.fairfield-city.org/ or call 513-867-5300.

City of Hamilton
Hamilton  residents can bring tree limbs and brush to the waste water treatment plant the 2nd Saturday of each month betwen Arpil and October from 8 a.m. - noon.  Call 513-785-7270.  Curbside leaf collection takes place in late October.  For more information, visit http://www.hamilton-city.org/.

City of Middletown
Middletown residents can put their leaves in brown lawn & leaf bags or regular trash bags and place them in their Rumpke trash container.  Call 513-425-7766 for more information.

City of Monroe
The Public Works Department will conduct curbside leaf pick- up in residential neighborhoods from mid -October through December.  The schedule is on the City's website at http://www.monroeohio.org/information/resident-information.  For more information, contact the Public Works Department at 513-737-8953.

City of Oxford
The City of Oxford will begin their annal leaf pick up program on Monday, October 24, 2016.  For pick up, leaves should be raked to the gutter or between the curb and sidewalk.  In areas of on-street parking, leaves should be raked to the yellow "No Parking" zone. No brush in the leaf piles.  Brush should be bundled and set out for regular curbside yard waste pick up.  For more information, call 513-524-5206 or visit

City of Trenton
Trenton will begin their leaf collection late October through December.  Leaves should be raked in low narrow piles along the curb. For more information, call 513-988-6304.
